# [[xk6-output-prometheus-remote]] [repo](https://github.com/grafana/xk6-output-prometheus-remote) xk6-output-prometheus-remote is an [[Extensions for k6 using xk6|extension]] for [[k6 (tool)|k6]] that allows you to publish k6 metrics to [[Prometheus]] via [[Prometheus Remote Write]]. As of k6 v0.42.0, this has been made available within k6 as an [[Experimental modules in k6|experimental module]]: [[k6 Prometheus Remote Write]], which is what should now be used.
